The Key of Life: A Metaphysical Investigation

Bach is Back!

Richard Bach has written his first novel in ten years, Hypnotizing Maria.
This is a book we have all been waiting for, and it received a great review from Publishers Weekly (June 15, 2009) pre-pub: “The hero of Bach's new book, pilot and flight instructor Jamie Forbes, is on a routine run when Maria, the panicked spouse of another pilot, radios that her husband has collapsed at the controls. Forbes talks her through the steps to land safely. Maria's explanation to reporters that Forbes ‘hypnotized’ her sparks a series of memories for Jamie, and the events that follow force him to examine what constitutes reality, to contemplate what lies beyond the edges of our carefully constructed worlds and whether those edges are real or created by our own limitations. While it mines the same territory as The Secret, Bach's book is far richer, raising provocative questions and striking the perfect balance, providing answers without implying that they are the only—or necessarily the right—ones.” (emphasis added)

Richard will give a talk and sign books at Powell’s Book Store in Beaverton, OR on September 24th at 7:00 PM and at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, WA on September 25th at 6:30 PM. This is a chance to meet Richard Bach and hear his thoughts on the deep spiritual and philosophical issues in Hypnotizing Maria.

365 Excuse Me

Mina Parker's latest book, based on Lynn Grabhorn's The New York Times "Best Sellers" Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting, will truly inspire you. Read a few pages, or even just one, and you will see that the daily meditations will begin to relieve stress and lead you away from the chaos of daily life. Mina has taken a popular, although somewhat metaphysical, concept from the Law of Attraction philosophy, "find and hold on to the inspiration, passion and connection to what you love and what makes your life meaningful," and reworked it into a very practical tool for dealing with our world. Each page becomes a remarkably useful guide, a source of inspiration and encouragement throughout the year. This is a book to keep on your night table, not only for a quick inspirational read before sleep and dreams but as an empowerment for the new day upon waking. There is "wisdom" here, and we can all stand a bit more of that!

Healing Young Brains

July 1, 2009 - Wednesday
Healing Young Brains by Robert W. Hill, PhD and Eduard Castro Md Category: Blogging
Dr. Hill will be the guest of The Frankie Boyer show on Friday July 3rd from 11:00 am Et to 12:00 noon ET http://frankieboyer.com/
Healing Young Brains is about rescuing children from pervasive and devastating disorders that affect millions of young people. Problems like autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and even depression can have lifetime consequences. The simple truth is that when we rescue the child we save the adult When Dr. Hill and Dr. Castro wrote Getting Rid of Ritalin in May 2002 they were excited to tell the story of how children all over the world were bring helped by a nonpharmaceutical brainwave training program (neurofeedback). Neurofeedback or brainwave biofeedback, offered hope for millions of children and adults with ADHD.
Since the first book, exciting things have happened in the field. There have been new studies on autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, depression, anxiety, and other disorders. This is now a treatment for Tourette’s syndrome and a wider variety of behavioral problems. People with sleep disorders and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) are seen in neurofeedback clinics on a daily basis.
